Tae Tea: Reviews & Ratings

Seriously, there are so many bubble tea spots these days, it’s a total headache trying to figure out which ones are actually good. The prices are all over the place too—you'll see everything from $5 to a wild $9! I was working near this one place called Tae Tea (inner-outside of Crystal Mall), and I always walk past it. I finally decided to give it a try and ordered their Mango Pomelo. I skipped the added sugar because, honestly, the fruit is already sweet enough—you really don't need the extra dose. Get this: it was only $6.65! Compare that to a competitor who usually charges around $8.20 for a similar thing. And, man, I was not disappointed. The only thing is, they told me I should totally mix it up before opening it (which I completely forgot), but honestly, it was still super yummy even without stirring! Yep, I'm definitely hitting up Tae Tea again soon! One of my kids saw the photo, and now they wanna try too!

The Mango Pomelo is refreshing. Mango slush with coconut cream and jelly and pomelo. It's their 2nd best pick. I love to discover new bubble tea places other than major chains.

Walked past it couple of times, this time was finally open, saw they had a variety of unique drinks so decided to give them a try, we got the yogurt grape saga. Taste 1/1* Personally not a big fan of sour drinks, but wife absolutely loved it! One thing I gotta say though is you sure can taste the difference in high quality ingredients they used. Value 0.5/1* Drinks are $1-$2 more expensive than other places, for the quality of ingredients used, debatable, only cause personally I prefer high quality seafood vs high quality yogurt, but that’s just me, wife thought was worth it Service 1/1* Fast & friendly Cleanliness 1/1* Shop looked new & spotless Overall/Revisit 1/1* Yes would return Paying for ambience? MAYBE as it’s new Above and beyond? 0/+1*

The crème brûlée taro was excellent, and it's a little cheaper than its competitors too. I enjoyed the simple decor and the tasty drinks. The service was great, service speed was fast too- but a fresh type of fast. If you're in crystal mall, check this place out. Would visit this place again!

In the bustling bubble tea scene around Burnaby, Tae Tea stands out as a refreshing gem. Nestled conveniently inside Crystal Mall at 4500 Kingsway, this spot offers a thoughtful blend of quality and value—two elements often elusive in this crowded market. From my experience and echoed by locals, Tae Tea masterfully balances flavor with affordability, exemplified by their signature Mango Pomelo. This drink layers sweet mango slush with creamy coconut, pomelo, and jelly, delivering a complex yet effortlessly fresh taste, all priced at a very reasonable $6.65.

What impressed me most was the careful attention to sweetness—customers can easily skip added sugar without sacrificing flavor, thanks to the natural ripeness of the fruit. This approach respects the palate, offering a genuine fruit-forward experience instead of a sugar overload. The packaging also speaks volumes about their commitment to quality—sturdy and stylish, it complements the modern decor of the shop, creating an inviting atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.

The menu extends beyond the Mango Pomelo, featuring unique options like the Burberry grape and mango cheese teas, which resonate well with families and bubble tea enthusiasts alike. Feedback from patrons highlights not only the delicious drinks but also the warm and attentive staff, contributing to an overall positive experience. Even kids find themselves drawn to Tae Tea’s vibrant offerings, a testament to the accessible yet sophisticated flavors.

In a market saturated with bubble tea outlets, Tae Tea carves a niche by offering fresh, thoughtfully crafted drinks that don’t break the bank. It’s a place where authenticity meets affordability, inviting you to explore flavors beyond the usual. Whether you're a bubble tea aficionado searching for a new favorite or a casual drinker seeking refreshing, well-balanced flavors, Tae Tea deserves a spot on your must-try list.
